The Bicycle Ballet Co is presenting a FREE taster workshop as part of the Sussex Blazing Saddles heritage project for women & girls on Saturday 16th September 10:30 - 12:30 at The Sidings, Active Travel Hub, Railway Approach Newhaven. Come and learn to dance with your bike, develop new skills and boost your cycling confidence.
Blazing Saddles is an outdoor performance celebrating the impact of bicycles on women & fashion from 1890s on. This unique taster session offers an inside flavour of the show, which will be created with local participants in Newhaven in September 2024 as part of Sussex Blazing Saddles.
Sussex Blazing Saddles is heritage project, exploring the pioneering cycling women who transformed their clothing to be able to ride, changing society & driving the campaign for women's votes, in Newhaven, Worthing, Brighton & Hove & Bexhill.

Do I need a bike & what if I don't have one?
Yes you will need a bike. Please bring it along if you have one & if not, you can contact us when booking your ticket to borrow one from the Active Travel Hub
Is there an age limit?
There's no age limit, but participants need a basic level of cycling skills. We recommend Bikeability level one, & be able to cycle safely with one hand off the handlebars
