Community groups and charities including the Sussex Wildlife Trust, The Living Coast and Havens Community Hub gathered at The Hillcrest Centre in Newhaven on Saturday for the Greenhavens Network’s first seed swap event.
Over 250 people attended many with their own seeds to swap with others including £1500 worth of seeds donated by companies across the U.K.
£500 of raffle prizes was donated with proceeds going towards the wilder garden project.
Organiser of the event Karen from Greenhavens Network said, “Over 250 people attended and we were overwhelmed with how many people turned up with their own seeds to swap. A big thanks for everyone that came and helped support the event.”
