Petition calling for safer crossings on Sutton Avenue and South Coast Road (A259) Peacehaven

A petition calling on East Sussex County Council to provide a safe pedestrian crossing on Sutton Avenue in Peacehaven to access the South Coast Road and Dell Park has been organised by Residents of Neville Lodge and supported by members of U3A, the Peacehaven Telscombe Cliffs and East Saltdean Access Group and representatives

for Kempton House.

The South Coast road has very little opportunity in traffic breaks for members of the public to cross over the South Coast road safely.

Residents of the retirement home amongst other local service users of Kempton House would like to access the Dell park and the promenade but there is no safe crossing place to do so.

The Dell also features a children's playground, a crossing would make it far safer for them to access the play equipment. The road is officially a 30mph zone but drivers often go above this limit making it harder to get a moment to cross.
