Saltdean Jazz Band accepting new members

The Saltdean Jazz Band (SJB), which meets at St Martins Church, Longridge Avenue for rehearsals Thursday evening 7.30pm-9.30pm, is accepting new members.

SJB is a fun and inclusive organisation aimed at getting people together to play music at all levels.

Maybe you have recently started learning and can already play a few tunes, or perhaps you played many years ago and would like to start-up again.

  • No auditions - all levels of enthusiastic musicians will be welcome

  • Help and support for nervous or new musicians

  • Emphasis will be on having fun and bringing the community together through music - including support for local events and charities with live performances

All levels are welcome so if you play keyboard, trumpet, trombone, guitar, clarinet, sax, violin, harmonica, flute - or even just a triangle - please get in touch.

SJB aims to be big and therefore play the music of the stablished big bands such as Count Basie, Glen Miller, Duke Ellington and much more.

While they will be featuring jazz, blues and swing numbers, they will be considering all music that suits the abilities of the players.

For more information contact saltdeanjazzband@gmail.com - or come along on a Thursday night to join in.
