Sign up to join the Newhaven Sharing Library

Newhaven Green Centre CIC has launched the Newhaven Sharing Library which offers household items, small tools and the like for loan, just like books from a ‘normal’ library. It is free to join, and free to borrow items – though they are always happy to receive donations towards their running costs.

You can sign up online then complete the registration process in person, either at one of their Thursday stalls, or at a Repair Cafe. See below for more details.

To sign up for the library, you’ll have to create an account on our ‘MyTurn’ library page here.

Then you’ll need to visit them in person to complete the registration process – you’ll need a photo ID and proof of address. You’ll be able to do this at a Repair Café or at one of their Thursday morning stalls at Newhaven Library.

Items will be offered on a one-week loan basis, with the option to renew up to four times if it's not been reserved by someone else. They can be collected and returned at their Thursday stall or on a Wednesday evening between 6-8pm by prior arrangement.

These are early days, and they have a fairly small stock. But they’re fundraising for more items to lend, and are happy to accept donations of good quality, useful items.

Please browse their existing stock here.

Do sign up, and do get in touch if you have ideas of useful things they could stock or any items you could donate.
