Newhaven Green Centre CIC who run Newhaven Repair Cafe and Hospitable Environment who run Newhaven Soup and Social events have combined to create a New Year event: Swap, Share & Repair at the Hillcrest Centre on Sunday 28th January between 11am-3pm.
It will be a Repair Cafe alongside a New Year swap, so bring any unwanted items, Christmas presents, clothes, seeds and toys to give and take yourself something in return.
As part of the event the Hospitable Environment will be hosting one of their regular 'Soup and Social' events where you can enjoy a free lunch. The cafe will be open for drinks and cakes throughout the day.
There will be workshops and talks taking place at 11am, 12pm and 2pm. This includes a baking workshop for children, zip mending workshop, glueing and mending workshop and a Troubleshooting session to help you tackle basic electrical repairs on your own.
And there will be live acoustic music.
Newhaven Green Centre is incredibly grateful to Ouse Valley Climate Action who are generously funding this event.
Newhaven Green Centre will be looking for volunteers for this event so do let them know if you can spare any hours between 10-4 on the day or help with preparations and publicity.
