Volunteer energy advisor needed for drop-in energy 'clinic' for Ovingdean, Rottingdean, and Saltdean

Saltdean Climate Action Network (SCAN) is looking for a volunteer energy advisor for its upcoming free energy advice drop-in ‘clinics’ for Ovingdean, Rottingdean, and Saltdean residents to help people acquire more information about managing their home energy requirements. A full day of training will be provided and topics include: home insulation, electric vehicles, bill advice, solar, double-glazing, heat-pumps.

Training will be provided by Energise Sussex Coast www.energisesussexcoast.co.uk - a community benefit cooperative - with funds coming from the National Lottery’s ‘Reaching Communities’. All are welcome to join the training and no previous experience is required. Advisors will not be expected to be experts and will be able to signpost visitors to further information as needed.

Dates for the clinics are to be decided but the team is aiming for autumn/winter/spring 2023/24 and ongoing if popular.

Whatever your level of interest, just have a look at the questions below, and email saltdeancan@gmail.com with answers, queries and to stay in the loop.

Q1 Would you use a free drop-in energy clinic if one was offered in the Ovingdean-Rottingdean-Saltdean area?

Q2 Would you like to become an energy advisor at the clinic (involving a 1-day commitment to training in Saltdean, and a duty roster - level of commitment to suit you - thereafter?)

Deadline for volunteer roles is August 1st and you can get more information by emailing saltdeancan@gmail.com
